The 'big smoke' cops the fall out from the Blue Mountains fires

At five pm in daylight saving time, the skies of inner Sydney are dogged by the displaced smoke (and falling embers) from the Springwood, Blue Mountains fire.




While it may look like the building above is on fire, it is the Springwood fires - 50 or 60 kilometres to the west - that are responsible for this plume of smoke.
