A great snow season or flash in the pan?

Impressive snow falls in early May cool down the high country, while flurries in the Blue Mountains and Central West follow cold on the heels of the most balmy of easters.

Harbinger of a block buster snow season or false promise as so often? We shall see. Gone are the days when the hardmen could ski from Cooma to the Kosciusko Hotel.

How much life is there in the ski industry under a global warming scenario, let alone the alpine species that have nowhere else to go if the most that the mountain can offer by way of habitat is sub alpine?
