This photograph gives some idea of the antiquity and fragility of the ruins of Adelong's gold crushing machine par excellence that was strategically positioned above Adelong Falls to capitalise on hydro power.
This photo, taken in October 2010 by Louise Halsey, conservator of the Adelong Falls gold crushing plant ruins, demonstrates what happens when unprecedented downpours in the upstream catchments of Adelong Creek channel through the pinch point above the falls.
The question is, what will be the downside of the March 2012 deluge on this unique and irreplaceble historical site?
