It's a cool and sometimes wet October long weekend and Narooma's surf beach, with Montague Island in the distance, is almost empty, apart from the odd person walking their dog and a smattering of keen fishermen.
What a perfect setting for a beach holiday, especially for anyone looking for accomodation overlooking the beach, not to mention a golf course with spectacular views on one's doorstep!
Nine kilometres off shore Montague Island, managed by Parks NSW, is a constant backdrop to Narooma's stunning seascapes.
At the southern end of Narooma's main surf beach, the reddish chert-rich rocks that feature so prominently along the south coast of NSW frame the evocative Glasshouse Rocks.
