Powerful new installation graces Royal Botanic Garden's foreshores
Such lovely 'lego' sandstone writ large in sandstone
Sydney's Royal Botanic Gardens have been a venue for contemporary sculpture for the past decade or so, with a diverse range of installations complementing its irreplaceable botanical treasures.
What a thrill it was to eyeball the latest, a substantial installation without explanation other than the 'Don't climb on the sculpture' message and temporary fencing installed in lieu of the overly sodden surrounds.
Who created this fascinating structure and how can I applaud them? Will the creator step forward? What a muscular adornment to Sydney's premier gardens.
Note the plastic-protected seedlings planted on the structure that will presumably grow into mature trees or shrubs as this marvellous installation 'ages'.
